0: 1. Mariinskii Park

Mariinskii Park was founded in 1874 by Nedzelskii O.G. This park is seemed to be the most beloved leisure area of Kyiv citizens. Walking through Mariinskii Park you will see Mariinskii Palace, an official ceremonial residence of the President of Ukraine in Kiev that adjoins the neo-classical building of the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) of Ukraine. It is a Baroque palace on the hilly bank of the Dnieper River. The cupola of Verkhovna Rada building is situated to the left side of Mariinskii Palace.
You should definitely walk to the steep: you will see the picturesque view of the the Dniper and its left bank from the sightseeing platform. This sightseeing platform was built in 1874 during at the helm of empress Maria. Near the Verkhovna Rada you will see the semicircular building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Walk back to the park; pass by the "Dynamo" Stadium and you will come to the "Lovers' Bridge", where you will see big amount of keylocks, with the names of lovers written on them.

- A monument to Nikolai Fyodorovich Vatutin
- A monument to the Heroes of the October Revolution of 1917
"Water Museum" is situated on the territory of Mariinskii Park and if you will have the possibility, we advise you to visit this museum.

The Volodymyrska Hill or St. Volodymyr's Hill (Ukrainian: ????????????? ?????, Volodymyrska hirka) is a large 10.6 hectares (0.106 km2) park located on the steep banks of the Dnipro River in central Kiev (Kyiv), the capital of Ukraine. The park was established in the mid-19th century, named for the statue of St. Volodymyr of Kiev which is located in the park. It has since become one of the symbols of Kiev, often depicted in paintings and photographic works of the city.
It is located on the highest and middle terraces of the geographic Mykhailivska Hill, located in close proximity to the St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, which occupied a large portion of the park's current boundaries until its destruction in 1934. An important street which passes through the park's hilly landscape is the cobblestone "Volodymyrskyi Descent." At the park's northern end is the Kiev Funicular, which serves as a transport connection between Kiev's Upper Town neighborhood and the historic commercial district, the Podil.

2: 3. Taras Shevchenko Park

Rather small, but really pleasant park that is situated opposite to the red building of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. This park was opened in 1890. A monument to Taras Shevchenko was fixed up in 1939, since then it is called Taras Shevchenko Park.
The fountain in the form of Black Sea is situated in the park. Restaurant "O'Panas", performed in Ukrainian style, is situated there. There is a place in this park for chess players amateurs; there is also the oldest public toilet that was built before revolution.
The territory of the park is 5, 4 ha. This park is a picturesque place right in the center of Kyiv and it can pretend to be the prettiest and the "correct" one.
The nearest metro station is "Ploscha Lva Tolstogo".
