Arts and Social Sciences Library is a large multi-floor library catering for the Arts and Social Science courses run at the University, it also includes a designated Law Library on the second floor.
A large range of facilities that are available for students of any discipline can be found at this Library, including a Short Loan Collection, a Reference Collection and the University's Special Collections and Archives (SOCAR).
There is also the innovative 'e-Lounge' in the lower ground floor which incorporates networked PCs, study rooms and a lounge area.

Bute Building is a grade II listed building owned by Cardiff University. It currently houses the Welsh School of Architecture and the Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies.
It is of a neoclassical design and the building was opened in 1916. The building has six Roman Doric columns in the front of the building and includes the Birt Acres Lecture Theatre.

Students' Union building is situated directly over the main railway going north from Cardiff to the South Wales Valleys, adjacent to the Cathays railway station.
The Union aims to promote the interests of its students, with the inclusion of the ARC (Advice and Representation Centre) to help students with all manner of issues.
It has a shop, a restaurant, a pub (The Taf), a Night Club (Solus) and houses the studios of
Xpress Radio (which is broadcast throughout the union),
gair rhydd (Welsh for 'Free Word') student newspaper, Quench the student lifestyle magazine and the newly developed
Cardiff Union TV (CUTV).
Its biggest student services are the Athletic Union and Societies Membership, the Athletic Union having within the region of 5000 students actively registered each year.

Outside is the impressive new 3rd Generation Pitch, as well as an artificial grass Hockey pitch, Netball and Tennis Courts. All of the outside facilities are floodlit.
