Sunderland only played a handful of games here but after the club left it eventually became the Ashbrooke Sporting Club which is still in existence today

For many still the spiritual home of Sunderland AFC as many will remember going to matches here with their parents and grandparents. The club won the FA cup finals in 1937 and 1973, but the ground also hosted some World Cup games in 1966.
